The conspiracy of excess plastic
I would not consider myself an environmentalist. I mean, I’m not the kind of guy who goes dumping trash on highways; I participate in my community recycling program; I use mostly LED light bulbs. And… I am not afraid to use plastic bags. Once.
But… I’m a cheap old man, and sometimes, that’s really just what I want… a plastic bag. And here’s where the conspiracy comes in… what happens if you want to go to the local grocery store (the mom-and-pop as well as Target, etc) and just buy the old-fashioned food storage bags you put a twist tie on? :

Nope. Not sold, no longer, your only choice is one of six thousand with zippers, slides, or some other fancy seal. These are thicker bags, too.
Now sure, there is a time for those; and certainly some may prefer them… but for the old-school ones to just disappear overnight… something’s wrong here. Not sure what particular terrorist group is behind this, but someone needs to get to the bottom of it and send them to the gallows.
